A Prettier Drink Is Hard To Find.
Our Rhapsody Frozen Margarita has at its base a product produced by the odwalla company called Red Rhapsody Juice. The juice is a combination of bananas, strawberries, apples, beet juice, a whole slew of vitamins and is gluten free. As you can see from the picture I used little too much ice, so we’ll call that one a margarita slushy.
Ingredients (Makes 2 Drinks)
- 2 ounces of cherry infused tequila (see recipe below)
- 1 ounce of triple sec
- 4 ounces of Odwalla Red Rhapsody Juice
- 1 tsp of baker’s sugar.
- ½ ounce of Key West Lime Juice
- Lime wedge.
- Sparkling sugar
- 1½ – 2 cups of ice
Cherry Infusion Mixing Instructions:
Combine 1 to 1 ½ cups of cherry infused craisins and 750 ml bottle of tequila in a blender until you create a lumpy mush of sorts.
Pour the mixture into a seal able container and place it in your refrigerator for 24 hours.
After 24 hours line a strainer or colander with a fine mesh fruit bag that you can easily find at your local grocery store and pour the mixture through it into another container. Cinch up the fruit bag and squeeze out the remaining liquid.
Don’t throw away the craisins though, they are now infused with tequila as well and are great on vanilla ice cream. Just put them in a seal-able container and refrigerate.
The resulting infused tequila will be a bright red in color and can be used in non-blended drinks as well.
Prepare a margarita glass by rubbing the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and then pressing it into the sparkling sugar.
Now combine the Rhapsody Juice, infused tequila, baker’s sugar, triple sec, and lime juice into a blender. Blend adding the ice slowly until you reach the consistency you desire.
If you are using a Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Machine then put the ingredients in the blending jar set the drink type to ritas, number of drinks to 2 and press the shave/blend button.
Carefully pour the drink into the prepared glass.
Serve and enjoy.
