A Great Drink On A Hot Day!
The other day my wife brought home some Pomegranate, Blueberry, Acai Sorbet from our local Safeway and immediately upon tasting it I said “There’s a drink in this.” So after some experimentation I came up with what you see below and it turned out to be a marvelously refreshing drink. One problem with it though is that since it’s made from sorbet it does have a tendency to separate quickly when placed into a glass. No problem though it won’t be in the glass that long and as long as you give them a stout straw for stirring things will be good.
Drink Ingredients. (Makes two drinks)
- 1 ½ ounces of Smirnoff’s raspberry vodka.
- 1 ½ ounces of Dekuyper Pomegranate Liqueur.
- 1 ounces of Dekuyper Watermelon Liqueur.
- 8 ounces of Pomegranate, Blueberry, Acai Sorbet (Any Safeway).
- 2 ounces of Torani Raspberry syrup.
- Enough ice to achieve desired thickness of drink.
- 1 can of whipped cream.
Drink Mixing Instructions:
Grab your favorite glass in this case a hurricane glass would work extremely well. Ignore what you see in the photo.
Next take your Margaritaville Margarita maker and add the vodka, pomegranate liqueur, watermelon liqueur, the sorbet, and raspberry syrup into the blending jar. Set the number of drinks on the control panel to 2 and if you have a Fiji or Tahiti model take an additional step and set the type of drink to smoothies
Next press the shave/blend button and let the machine do its thing. At the end of the blending cycle check the drink to make sure it is thick enough for you and if it isn’t shave a little more ice into the jar and blend. If it’s too thick add a little more raspberry syrup or if you’re brave more vodka and blend.
Pour the drink into the glass and serve with watermelon slices or raspberries on the side.
The sorbet comes in one point containers and you will get four drinks from a container, so only one of these drinks per guest because sorbet is not cheap.
